GEICO's Systems Operations Department is looking for a Middleware Administrator for the installation, configuration, performance and tuning as well as ongoing operations and maintenance of Tuxedo application servers. Furthermore, the Middleware Administrator will troubleshoot application issues and advise developers on how to develop applications in a best practice approach utilizing the specific application servers. It is very important that this Middleware Administrator have some experience with some flavor of UNIX (Solaris 8 or Linux SuSe is preferred). Below is a list of tasks that you will be involved in once you are comfortable with the environment.

At least 2 - 3 years of experience working as a BEA Tuxedo Administrator with in-depth knowledge of BEA Tuxedo development/administration;

2 -3 years of experience in two of the following operating systems: o LINUX: Preferably Suse, Red Hat o UNIX: Preferably AIX, Solaris;

Windows: Windows 2000, Windows 2003, or XP;

Good-working knowledge of UNIX and Windows OS, and must know the IPC principals (Inter-processing communication);

Must have experience or in-depth knowledge of J2EE framework and applications;

Experience working with Websphere MQ and messaging is also required;

Basic knowledge of Windows and network protocols such as TCP/IP and HTTP;

Knowledge of Middleware products such as JBOSS, Tomcat, Websphere Application Server, Apache, Java programming or Software Development Life Cycle is a plus;

Good troubleshooting skills;

Must have the ability and flexibility to support and manage our dynamic 7 X 24 Production J2EE Environment as well as the other testing environments;

This candidate should also be eager to learn and must be able to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines;

Ability to work in an environment that is constantly changing to meet the needs of the business;

Must be a highly organized self-starter and a team player that works well as a member of a diverse team.
