Job Description
Contractor: Structures Project Engineer
Anticipated 6 - 12 months contract
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Primary area of focus is on Boeing 737CL/NG aircraft structure. Prepare Engineering Controls to incorporate FAA mandated Airworthiness Directives, Federal Aviation Regulation changes, airframe manufacturer Service Bulletins, and component manufacturer Service Bulletins. Investigate, analyze, and implement corrective action for reliability problems associated with Alaska Airlines fleet of 737CL/NG aircraft. Provide oversight of the Maintenance Program for assigned area of responsibility. Function as a team leader/member on projects with other engineers, Maintenance Planning, Maintenance, Quality Control, Flight Operations, Reliability & Maintenance Programs. Provide project and special interest issue updates to senior management.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Theoretical and practical knowledge of 737 CL/NG aircraft structures. Familiarity with FAA regulations and the Supplemental Type Certification process related to aircraft structure repairs and modification. Strong analytical ability, particularly in identifying problems and significant trends. The ability to balance multiple tasks and an aptitude for project management. Previous management experience is preferred. Strong oral and written communication skills.
Education:
B.S. degree in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
